WETA’s new raygun rifle: $6k of pure steampunk bliss

New Zealand-based company WETA is best known for creating the amazing swords, suits-o-armor and other excruciatingly-detailed props for movies like The Lord of the Rings trilogy and other awesome sundries. But the company has a spiffy side project in which they make fake rayguns for purchase and display.

These things are really, really cool.

WETA just announced its awesomest offering yet: “The Unnatural Selector,” a 50-unit limited release raygun rifle. It’s a blunderbuss-meets-retro-scifi weapon, and it’ll set you back around $6,000. But behold what you get for dropping so much cash:

The Unnatural Selector
