Winged cat makes purrfectly angelic pet
A Chinese Sichuan province resident known only as “Feng” has a furry feline friend that recently scored some incredible newspaper coverage. Why? The cat’s story is pretty incredible itself: it grew wings.
According to the Huashang News, Feng’s kitty sprouted wings during a recent heat wave in the region. The cat’s wing-like appendages started as bumps upon his back, but then blossomed into the fuzzy, angelic forms when after he was “harassed” by females looking to mate,” Fend told reporters.
“At first, they were just two bumps, but they started to grow quickly, and after a month there were two wings,” she said. “Many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow.”
Feng says the wings have bones. According to animal and genetics experts interviewed for the story, “wings” such as these can form through poor grooming, a genetic defect or a hereditary skin condition.
