Chronogasm: Slick, lickable sci-fi watch makes us drool
There was once a less-enlightened era — not too long ago, we might add — when reading and watching science fiction & fantasy made you a square, a pariah, a social untouchable. Thankfully, that wyrm has turned. These days, sci-fi is cool, man. Gobs of the most successful movies of all time are sci-fi and fantasy epics … and some of the most-daring storytelling hails from SF novels.
Of course, it’s no secret that many of the MINE staff dig science fiction. We’re proud of our fandom, and now, thanks to TokyoFlash, we can salute our fandom every day … but literally wearing it on our sleeves.
It’s sci-fi personified, baby: the wristwatch called “Rogue.”
From the TokyoFlash website: “Bright enough to get you noticed but subtle enough to keep you looking cool, Rogue’s vivid green LED light guide presents the time through a circle of connecting LCD blocks.
“With its ever present LCD interface, the time can be read at a glance but can be further illuminated with sci-fi green LEDs at the touch of a button, bringing the display to life like a glowing radar screen. … Once mastered, navigating the time is simple, but creates a sense of mystique to the uninformed…”
We’re smitten by this timekeeper, and while the price is nothing to sniff at — around $160 — we think we’ll start saving up for this slick gizmo.
After all, by flashing this baby at our ruthless Inevitbale Alien Invasion doom-bringers, we just might be spared.

Holy. Sheepdip.
Restrained, quiet, simple, effective…and it glows green. I WANT one of these.
