Single for a Single: The Classic Crime’s “Abracadavers”
If you’re like the MINE crew, you love discovering new music … but you’re usually strapped for cash. We’re here to help with “Single for a Single,” our series that’ll turn you on to a rock-solid song (often from an independent artist) that’s well worth the $1 you’ll spend to snag it.
The Classic Crime, an alternative rock band from Seattle, has released “Abracadavers,” a new single now available on iTunes. The band has strong clear vocals, two steady rocking guitars, flowing basslines and drums that shout out rhythm in the melodies. The song is from their upcoming album The Silver Cord, which will debut on July 22nd.
The band’s name is apparently an homage to martyrs who died for their beliefs, regardless if their actions were actually “criminal” or otherwise. Singer Matt MacDonald says: “Music has a profound effect on the listener. It even has the power to lift spirits and change lives. If we can see our music change a life for the better, than we’ve been paid in the kind of way we hope to be.”
Sounds noble enough. The band is signed by Tooth and Nail Records. Visit iTunes for the single, or learn more about The Classic Crime at MySpace and Pure Volume.
